Meet the ASA
We're here to ensure that you can make the most of your McGill experience. Like you, we're passionate about anthropology.
Here's this year's team!
Hi! My name is Aashia (she/her) and I am a fourth year Anthropology and Sociology student here at McGill. I'm an international student from Kolkata, India who grew up in Dubai. When I'm not catching up on overdue readings, I'm probably organizing debate tournaments, rewatching Bojack Horseman, or telling someone they should start journaling.
Hi y'all! My name is Brianna (she/they) and I'm from Toronto. I am a 3rd year double majoring in Anthropology and Gender, Sexuality, Feminist & Social Justice Studies. I am interested in gender diversity in archaeology and Indigenous sexuality pre/post colonial contact. I am hoping to pursue graduate studies in social justice education! In my free time you can find me picnicking at Square St-Louis, taking pictures of my cats Marge and Loras, or discussing queer theory with my sorority!
Greetings! I'm Britney (she/her), U2 double-majoring in Anthropology & Psychology. My interests have been all over the place: culture, health, relationships, sexuality, Indigenous studies & communications. In my spare time, I blog, draw/paint, and read Chinese Medicine for fun! 😀
Hello, My name is Randa and I am this year’s VP Creative. I am majoring in Anthropology after recognizing an interest in contemplating the human condition; undecided minor at the moment :0 . I’m from Toronto and very much enjoying life in Montreal! I enjoy photography, making art, and of course, spending time with friends.
My name is Maddy (she/her) and I’m one of the VP events executives for ASA this year! I’m double majoring in anthropology and art history, with a minor in Latin American & Caribbean Studies. Within anthropology, my main interests are in environmental and ecological anthro, specifically in regards to climate change. In my free time, I love to read, bike, crochet, and spend time with animals! I’m super excited to have some anthro events this year (hopefully in person🤞)
Hi! I'm Claire Berthelot (she/her/hers), co-VP Publications. I am a U3 student majoring in Anthropology and minoring in International Development. I'm so excited to be working on the journal this year and be part of the ASA exec committee! My favorite thing to do is to go hiking. Fun fact, I hiked through the Annapurna Conservation Area in Nepal 2 years ago.
Hello! My name is Brooklynn and I use she/her pronouns. I am in U3, majoring in both anthropology and sociology. I am interested in the intersections of gender, sexuality, and religion. My hobbies include playing Quidditch, looking at pictures of cats, and eating New York Style Cheesecake.
Hi! My name is Daphne (she/her), and I'm VP Webmaster. I'm in U2 pursuing a Joint Honours in Anthropology and History. I'm from Los Angeles, but I've been loving Montreal! In my free time, I'm probably either on a walk or doing New York times crossword puzzles with my roommates.
My name is Susannah (she/her) and I’m one of your ASA VP-events this year.
I’m a U3 Honours student in Anthropology with a minor in History. This is my last year at McGill which means I’ll be writing my Honours thesis over the next year (wish me luck!😅). My main interests are in topics related to Bioarchaeology and the ways in which cultural histories are presented in the museum space.
Outside of school I love to read and to spend as much time outside as I can.
I’m looking forward to all the great ASA events Maddy and I are planning! See you all there! ❤️
Hey everyone! I'm Charlie (they/them), 5th year majoring in Anthropology and minoring in English Literature. My interests include Archaeology, Paleo-anthropology, the Pleistocene/Holocene transition, Archaeological Sciences, Community Archaeology, and Museology. In my free time I like playing dungeons and dragons, reading, and watching movies.
Hi, I'm Eliana Miskey (She/her pronouns). This year I am ASA's VP Internal. I'm studying Anthropology and French. I love music, spending time outdoors and travelling. A fun fact about me is that I am in a chamber choir. Looking forward to a good year!
